Former Indian player opens up about his career after MS Dhoni took over as captain, saying that "he replaced me in all formats."

The boy from Ranchi after making his debut in 2004  noway  looked back and went on to do some special  effects for his country. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who burst onto the  transnational scene as a clotheshorse, came one of the stylish ever to have played the sport, one of the  topmost Indian captains, a genius  anthology of the game and had the fastest hands behind the wholes.

When Dhoni had arrived, the likes of Parthiv Patel and Dinesh Karthik were  formerly with the Indian  platoon,  still, once he came into the side, he  noway  looked back and not only came the captain in the times to come but also led India to three ICC titles.

Karthik in an interview in the  history said that Dhoni was the headmaster of the  academy where all the other keepers were studying. ultimately, he ruled over  transnational justice for over a decade and the likes of Karthik got smaller chances and had to make a place for themselves with  harmonious performances just as a batter.

Speaking about his  trip and how he met Dhoni for the first time and  also  ultimately getting replaced by him in all formats on RCB Podcast, Karthik said," I made my debut before him. We went together on an India A  stint and from there I got picked for the Indian  platoon, he was still there in India A  platoon. " That was the first time I played a four- day match together with him.

I did so well that they picked me for the Indian  platoon. From there, they went on another trip, there was an ODI  event where he just blasted it. People stood up and said there's  nothing like him. They said he is a special player. Obviously, I came to the Indian  platoon, but by  also the Dhoni mania was so big that you had to pick him. He  also replaced me in all formats and he did  veritably well. At the end of the day, it's  each about taking  openings. You got to be ready to take  openings.

Karthik said that how Dhoni was doing was not his concern as he chased excellence for himself and wanted to be the stylish cricketer in the world. still, Dhoni's rise overnight into a star did not help his cause a he came an understudy soon enough while looking to perform every time he got an  occasion as that was his only way to get back into the side.

" I was chasing excellence. I was constantly on the path of  getting the stylish cricketer in the world. Dhoni was there, he was not there – that was not my lookout. He was doing  veritably well for himself. I knew that he'd settled in the  platoon. He made no mistake at the  launch. They  transferred him up an order, he got a hundred in ODI. He  also went to Test justice and scored 85. He kept brilliantly. Most importantly, he came a brand overnight. People were after him. He was  monstrously popular sportsperson right from the  onset. I was always the understudy but I was always on the lookout for  openings, doing  commodity special," he further added.

Steve Smith discusses his anger following his dismissal in the Delhi Test: I didn't want to play that way.

Steve Smith, who's" still learning" the game in the key, has conceded that he was angry with himself after being sailed out in the alternate innings of the Delhi Test against India. On day three of the alternate Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, it should be noted that Smith was dismissed for only nine runs by Indian incentive Ravichandran Ashwin after trying an audacious reach shot, a shot he hardly ever employs. In smaller than six days, India won by six lattices to recapture the Border- Gavaskar jewel back after Smith's LBW redundancy.

in Delhi sparked an 8- 28 collapse. I suppose I have played in about 95 Test matches( 94), and I do not believe I have ever walked off the field and wondered," What the heck am I doing?" Before the Indore fight, Smith informed media. In three Tests, Smith has three hundreds, which is among his finest down from home and an normal of52.21. still, he has only scored 71 runs in the current series' first four innings, including a three- ball duck in Delhi's opening inning.

Opens Up About Talk With Ravindra Jadeja That Made Him Into A Deadly All-Rounder by Ravi Shastri

In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Team India presently leads Australia 2-0.Rohit Sharma's side will attempt to win the series in the third Test match, which gets underway on March 1 at Holkar Stadium in Indore.Team India is in excellent shape as evidenced by the team's victory in Nagpur's first Test match by a hour and 132 runs. They followed it up with a six-wicket win on the third day of the second Test match, which was played in New Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. Ravindra Jadeja's lethal form was on display in Nagpur, where he secured a five-wicket haul for a total of seven wickets.. In Nagpur, Jadeja also reached the fifty-run mark.In the second Test match, Jadeja took seven wickets, which is a career high, in the second session as Australia was bowled out for just 113 runs.In the Test matchup with New Delhi, the all-around player claimed 10 catches.

Jadeja has made a remarkable comeback since getting better, and the all-rounder is now a crucial part of the Indian squad. But the 34-year-situation old's wasn't always this way; he had to compete for his position until 2019. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri discussed an intriguing discussion with Jadeja that most likely helped him develop into a deadly all-rounder during his appearance on the ICC Review.

"He is very physically strong and seems to be eager. He has a strong commitment to the activity. I don't recall many of the discussions, but it happened at Lord's during the 2019 tour. That contest wasn't played by him. A discussion actually took place. Bharat Arun, the bowling instructor, and I spoke while there. You have it all in you, we told you; just concentrate on that hitting of yours. Work a little harder in that area of the nets because you have the ability and the game, even though it feels strange to be told you have them. It is up to you to recognise that ability you possess. You think you possess the necessary ability "explained Shastri.

When the opportunity arose, he seized it, and he hasn't looked back since. He has scored runs in difficult circumstances while also doing his work with the ball. Because of this, selecting a spinner in international circumstances can be a challenge for a mentor. It is a disaster if you are forced to choose just one. It gets difficult when you consider Ashwin's reputation and add Jadeja to the mix "He went on to say.

India needs to win the Border-Gavaskar Cup in 2023 in order to compete in the World Test Championship final.

BGT 2023: According to Mark Taylor, India is producing slow, low turners that are appropriate for their style of play.

According to Mark Taylor, a former Australia batsman, India is pitching slow, low turners that fit their game. India has a 2-0 lead in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Test series and is prepared to take on Australia in Indore.

Taylor claimed that the pitches in India are special and that they are putting out slow, low turners that are appropriate for their style of play.

"In Australia, the weather is different. Certainly, with the IPL, the Australian team visits there more frequently these days. But, the pitches there are special. There is no question in my mind. They are releasing low, slow turners that are appropriate for their style of play. Also, we aren't accustomed to playing on those kinds of fields "Taylor remarked.

He continued by saying that although Australia played aggressively against India in the second Test in Delhi, their execution was subpar.

We got there prepared to confront it head-on and aggressively, which is a good attitude to have. Yet, you need a strategy for it. On the second Test, the execution was weak "Taylor inserted.

The former cricketer reflected on his encounters with India throughout his playing career and claimed that even they suffered crushing defeats because of how swiftly the game developed under Indian conditions.

In India, I didn't play in many Test games. In a really good game in Chennai during the first test match of 1998, we were defeated. We played the second Test at Eden Gardens and received a crushing defeat. What occurred to the Australian team is not unusual; it has happened before as well. In Eden Gardens, we suffered a 220 run defeat. It's not really enjoyable. This time, that's what took place. All of a sudden, you realise how swiftly the game progresses "Taylor stated.

Harmanpreet Kaur responds to Nasser Hussain's comment regarding her run-out: Do not assume that the schoolgirl made a mistake.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India, was taken aback by Nasser Hussain's remark that she made a schoolgirl mistake after being run out during Thursday's Women's T20 World Cup semifinal match against Australia at Newlands. The Indian captain, who was suffering from a high fever and dehydration, scored a lovely fifty and had a brilliant partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues before being caught just inches short of the stumps while attempting to slide her bat in.

Harmanpreet raced for a double as India needed to score 41 runs in 33 balls to win. Her bat got jammed midway through the second run, though, and up to that point, Australian wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy had disturbed the stumps. Beyond furious, Harmanpreet was with herself. The Indian captain felt she was unlucky because she thought that if she had waited till the end, they would have won the game with one over remaining; however, Nasser Hussain, a former England captain, referred to the skipper's mistake as a "schoolgirl error."

Naseer stated that? Post-match? Okay. That's just his way of reasoning, I guess, but it does happen occasionally. When players are taking a single like that in cricket, I have frequently observed that the bat becomes stuck. Naturally, I'll assume it means today was a bad day for us. To advance to the playoffs, we still need to make some improvements. Without a doubt, we didn't bowl consistently well, defend well, or bat well. To be eligible to advance to the playoffs, you must perform well across the board.

The Asian heavyweights were defeated by 5 runs in the semifinal game after Harmanpreet and company could only muster 10 runs off the final over. After taking two wickets and hitting 31 runs off of 18 balls, Ashleigh Gardner was selected as the game's Player of the Match.

"I believe it was poor luck, but I do not believe a schoolgirl was to blame. Whatever he said, that is his way of thinking; we are old enough, we play world cricket. It wasn't like that, in my opinion "Added she.

ICC Ranking: Ravichandran Ashwin Closes the Gap to the Top Position by Two Points, while Ravindra Jadeja Breaks Into the Top Ten

In the ICC Rating for Test match bowlers, Team India's Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja both experienced significant increases. Only a few points behind the newly ranked No. 1 bowler from England, James Anderson, Ashwin shot up to No. 2. After seven wickets in the second innings against Australia, Jadeja, the second Test's "Player of the Match," quickly climbed back into the top 10 of the bowlers' rankings.

Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, who has held the position since February 2019, is replaced by Anderson. Anderson first rose to the top spot in May 2016 and remained there until Kagiso Rabada of South Africa overtook him in November 2018. Since Australia's legendary Clarrie Grimmett in 1936, Anderson is the fifth-oldest bowler in Test history and the oldest bowler to hold the top spot.

Ashwin currently has 864 rating points, while Anderson presently has 866. Cummins, the captain of Australia, dropped to third place with 858 points.

Jadeja, an all-rounder for India, has moved up seven spots to ninth after taking ten wickets in the second Test in Delhi. This is the first time he has appeared in the top 10 since September 2019. The other India spinner Axar Patel's late-order heroics have propelled him into the top five for all-rounders, while his spin colleague Ashwin has gone up to second position.

As Australia loses the Border Gavaskar Cup 0-2 to India, a former India legend refers to Pat Cummins and his teammates as "duplicate."

New Delhi: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh slammed the Australian side now visiting India, jokingly referring to them as "duplicate." As Australia lost the first two Test matches against India in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy within three days, Harbhajan made his remarks.

While India defeated the visitors by six wickets in the second Test at Feroz Shah Kotla after winning the first Test in Nagpur by an innings and 132 runs. The two defeats also insured that India would keep the Border Gavaskar Trophy for a fourth straight year.

"Australia trained with a replica of Ravichandran Ashwin's team, but I believe the Australian team is a duplicate team. They only consider bad things because of their mentality, "Sports Tak cited Harbhajan as stating.

Importantly, the management of the Australian team, in particular the head coach Andrew McDonald, refused to allow any tour games before the series began. The strategy failed. Harbhajan, commonly known as "Turbanator" for his legendary bowling performances during his playing days, asserted that the visitors would have lost every game in a 10-match series.

Also, he is sure that India will win 4-0. "I am positive that India will triumph 4-0. India will defeat Australia 10-0 even if it were a 10-match series since this Australian side lacks offensive punch. They throw their wickets directly from the dressing room if there is something on the field "Added he.

How the Income Tax Office Monitors Your Income Information

The Income Tax Bureau has increased its examination of unreported income to combat tax evasion. Presently, all high-value transactions require PAN submission. Also, IT personnel has the right to request that the bank provide information about its income for verification.

The department analyses and matches income with the person's expenses and investments using these hints to determine whether or not the right tax liability involves tax evasion. The following are some methods that the tax office tracks your high-value transactions:

1) Your bank will alert the tax authorities if you deposit cash, make a demand draught, or make fixed deposits totaling up to or beyond Rs 10 lakh in a fiscal year across numerous accounts.

2) Any sale or purchase of real estate costing more than Rs 30 lakh must be reported by the property registrar.

3) The buyer is required to withhold TCS (tax collected at source) at the rate of 1% and deposit the money with the tax office if a property is purchased for more than Rs 50 lakh.

4) Businesses must report to the tax authorities any purchases of mutual funds, stocks, and debentures totaling at least Rs 10 lakh.

5) If you make more than Rs 50 lakh a year, you must list your assets and debts on a new ITR (income tax return) form.

6) Any purchase of goods or services that costs more than Rs 2 lakh must now be declared using a PAN.

Team India sets a new benchmark by winning the most test matches against Australia.

After a historic victory over Australia in the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi, Team India now leads by 2-0.

On Sunday, February 19 in Delhi, the hosts not only claimed the first two victories but also made history. With the victory in the Delhi Test, Team India scored its 32nd test victory against Australia, which is the most against any team.

By the end of Day 2, Australia was 62 runs ahead of India, and India was behind the eight balls. India recovered thanks to Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, going from 85/2 to 113 all out. The hosts successfully chased down the target and prevailed by 6 wickets.

As India defeated Australia in Nagpur for the first game of the series, Team India and England each had 31 victories over Australia in 131 matches dating back to 1932.

India has defeated Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and the West Indies 22 times apiece. India has a 15-game winning streak over South Africa, followed by Bangladesh (11), Pakistan (9), Zimbabwe (7), and Afghanistan (1).

If India wins the remaining two games in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, they will enhance the amount of victories they have over Australia. India is just one step away from competing in the WTC championship. In the event that New Zealand defeats Sri Lanka 2-0, Australia will also go to the summit match, even if they ultimately lose the series 4-0.

Even if Sri Lanka wins one game, they would not be able to advance to the championship game, where India will play Australia from June 7 to 11.

Australia's Pat Cummins will quit the India mid-series due to a private personal problem, according to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

In the early hours of Monday, February 20, Australian media reported that Australia skipper Pat Cummins would take a flight back home in the middle of the highly publicised Test series between India and Australia to attend to a personal family situation.Cummins is expected to reunite with the team prior to the third Test match, which will begin on March 1 in Indore.

Australia's current tour to the subcontinent has not gone well under Cummins' direction, as they have dropped back-to-back Test matches. On the first three days of play, Australia lost both Test matches in Nagpur and New Delhi after failing to handle the spin test. Australia faces the possibility of being eliminated from the World Test Championship final if India sweeps them in the series. Australia was expected to face either India, Sri Lanka, or South Africa in the final during the four-match tour.

Nevertheless, as things stand, Sri Lanka and India are battling for a place in the championship game, while Australia could be eliminated entirely. Australia did not do well in Delhi, as their batters once more gave up in just over one session of play. Australia's second innings was bowled out for just 113 runs in the early session of Day 3, despite a strong start and a 61/1 score at the end of Day 2.

Cummins had stated in a post-game interview that his batters needed to improve their effort and find a way to score runs in India.

"There may be a review, in my opinion. How did we approach the shot selection?" Cummins had stated following the game.

In addition, he had said, "Unfortunately, quite a few of us got out with kind of cross-batted shots, which might not be our preferred way.

R Ashwin becomes the first bowler in the history of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to twice dismiss Steve Smith for a duck in a Test match.

The Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made Test cricket history by twice putting former Australia skipper Steve Smith out for a duck. In the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Ashwin dispatched Marnus Labuschagne and Smith with three lethal deliveries.

It's interesting to note that in the past six matches between India and Australia, Ashwin has removed Smith four times. In 2020, when India and Australia were playing in Melbourne, he initially threw out Smith for a duck.

The biggest star for India in their dominance of Tests at home over the past ten years has been the world's top all-rounder in Test cricket. The 36-year-old has taken 10 wickets overall, making him the series' leading wicket-taker.

Marnus Labuschagne was first caught by Ashwin on the pads after a clamorous request for an LBW was denied. The ball would have hit middle and off, according to replays, and Ashwin convinced Rohit Sharma to elect the DRS. Two balls later, R Ashwin showed why he is such a talented bowler by sending it slightly farther outside the off-stump as Smith stepped forward to provide a narrow chance, and wicketkeeper KS Bharat performed a superb catch.

Usman Khawaja appeared at ease in the middle as Australia made a strong start to the innings. David Warner was eventually removed by Mohammed Shami after edging the ball to wicketkeeper KS Bharat, continuing his dismal Test performance. Just before noon, Marnus Labuschagne joined Khawaja at the crease, and the two players were building a strong connection. Then, R Ashwin took back control of the situation.

With three wickets in the first innings that helped limit Australia to a total of 177, Ashwin was also the star bowler in the first Test in Nagpur. He proved unplayable in the second innings, collecting a five-wicket haul as India bowled the visitors out for 91 runs. Ashwin completed the feat in just 89 matches, making him the Indian bowler with the fastest 450 Test wicket total.

During the Delhi Test, Ravindra Jadeja made history by becoming the quickest Indian to reach a significant milestone.

During the opening day of action in the second Test between India and Australia at the Arjun Jailtley Stadium in Delhi, India's Most Valuable Player (MVP) continued to demonstrate his brilliance. Three crucial wickets taken by Jadeja helped India gain the upper hand in the match.

Usman Khawaja, who was batting at 81 and appeared poised to lead Australia to a sizable score, was one of the notable dismissals in this. Jadeja was dismissed, becoming him the first player to take 250 wickets. Jadeja became the first Indian and the second-fastest player in the world to attain the historic milestone of amassing 2500 runs in Test cricket and claiming 250 wickets as a result.

After Ian Botham, who needed 55 games to reach the milestone, Jadeja reached it in 62 Test matches, which is the second-fastest time in Test cricket history. Jadeja joins Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravichandran Ashwin as the fifth Indians to accomplish the uncommon feat. In order to attain the milestone, Jadeja outperformed Kapil Dev (65) and former Pakistan captain Imran Khan (64).

Jadeja had taken five wickets in the first innings and scored a crucial 70, earning him Player of the Match (POTM) honours in the first game. During the second innings, he added three more wickets.

In Delhi for the second Test, Jadeja added to his recent success with the ball by taking a three-wicket haul. In addition to Khawaja, he also got rid of Pat Cummins and Todd Murphy in the same over, giving India the victory.

Australia scored 263 runs after choosing to bat first and winning the toss. Jadeja and Ashwin each got three wickets, while Mohammad Shami claimed four.

IND vs. AUS: Cheteshwar Pujara Says Hitting 72 On Debut Was One Of The Most Significant Hits In My Cricketing Career

Cheteshwar Pujara, a top-order batsman, looked on his career to date as he approached being the 13th Indian cricketer to play 100 Test matches. He said his knock of 72 on debut was a crucial moment in his cricket career.

Pujara was elevated ahead of Rahul Dravid, who is currently the Indian team's head coach, and coincidentally made his Test debut in the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia in Bengaluru in October 2010. He scored 72 in a successful chase of 207.

In the first innings of that game, Mitchell Johnson caught him lbw for four runs. On his way to making 72 on a day five pitch, hitting seven fours, taking 19 ones, ten twos, and playing 52 dot balls, Pujara, however, left everyone in awe with his exquisite smashes against Johnson, Ben Hilfenhaus, Peter George, and Nathan Hauritz in the second innings.

"It's very challenging to pick two specific innings. Some of them I may mention here, such as the one where I scored 72 on my debut, which I considered to be one of my most significant cricketing moments because I was so anxious. Maybe I wouldn't have been playing international cricket if I hadn't scored those runs. Hence, that innings was quite special," he remarked at the news conference prior to the game.

Going on, 92 against Australia in 2017 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium was one of my favourite innings, Pujara continued, taking the sentimental way. Aside from that, I scored 155 in the second innings, scoring my maiden foreign hundred in South Africa. Then, 123 in Adelaide, followed by the final Test (in 2021) at the Gabba, where I made 56 while taking a couple hits to the body.

Pujara's life is truly completing a circle because both his Test debut and 100th games were against Australia. Pujara averages 52.77 against the opposition for the test on Friday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with five hundreds and ten fifties.

"Australia has always been a challenging opponent, and we had a really wonderful series against them. New Zealand and England have also faced off against one another. Since we know the team's capability when we are challenged, our performance against them has been incredibly strong. Players are ready to respond and take on the challenge of competing to become the best squad in the world.

No matter how the game is going, they have a strong battling spirit. They'll constantly pose as your adversary. I've never gotten free runs against Australia when I've walked to the plate. I always have to put in a lot of effort to find a solution and secure such runs.

There is a little amount of banter and chatter since they play as a unit and are constantly loud even on the field. I'll sometimes use that as motivation since I won't try to respond to them. The finest thing a cricket player can do, though, is score runs and let the bat do the talking. They have been a difficult opponent, and I had some success, but we always look forward to this challenge," he added.

Pujara could swiftly name a number of bowlers who competed against him in Test cricket.

"Playing James Anderson in England personally for me. Then, during my first trip abroad, dealing with Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn was pretty difficult. I was having some problems, so I talked to Rahul to work on my game. One of the toughest bowlers to play in Australian conditions has been Pat Cummins.

ICC Test Rankings: R Ashwin moves up to second place in the world and moves closer to unseating Pat Cummins as the top bowler

The top-ranked Test side in the world, Australia, suffered an innings defeat at the hands of India's Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja last week in Nagpur. Their performances are mirrored in the most recent ICC Test Bowler Rankings, where they have improved significantly. With total numbers of 8/79, Ashwin finished as the game's leading wicket-taker.His 31st five-wicket haul in his remarkable Test career came in Australia's second innings. He climbed the ranks to position two and is now just 21 rating points behind Australia's Pat Cummins, a fast bowler who is widely regarded as the finest bowler in the world for the format.

Jadeja put out a strong all-around performance despite the Nagpur Test being his first international match following a protracted injury layoff, playing well both with the ball and the bat.

Australia was skittled for 177 on the first day of the series opener after choosing to bat first thanks to left-arm spinner Jadeja's 5/47.

Jadeja then contributed 2/34 to Australia's second innings, which came to a conclusion with only 91 runs scored in a single session.

The only century from either side was produced by India Test team captain Rohit Sharma throughout the game, which was also very profitable for him. In the most recent ICC Test rankings for batsmen, he rose to ninth place after scoring 120 in India's 400-all out.

The Australian openers, David Warner and Usman Khawaja, failed to make any progress in either session.

When compared to his opening partner Khawaja, who scored 1 and 5, Warner, who scored 11 runs in the two innings, fell from 14th to 20th.

Axar Patel, an all-rounder for India, not only took a wicket but also hit 84 off 174, the second-highest individual score of the Test. He moved up to the seventh slot in the all-arounder rankings as a result of his performance.

The Indian cricket fans were not in for any happy news. The Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, has moved up to second place in the bowlers' rankings thanks to his outstanding performance with the ball. Compared to Australian captain Cummins, who has 867 rating points, Ashwin has 846 rating points. Jasprit Bumrah, who will not play in the four-match Test series, is currently ranked fifth among bowlers with 803 points.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the second Test between India and Australia will start on Friday (February 17). To secure a spot in the ICC World Test Championships championship game later this year, Rohit Sharma's team must win the Test series by a margin of two games.

The 36-year-old is now ranked No. 2 among Test bowlers, 21 rating points behind Australia's Pat Cummins, and India is back at the top of the rankings for the first time since 2017.

While Jadeja caused havoc on the first day with 5/47, including the valuable wickets of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne, while Ashwin stepped up in what ended up being the final session of the Test, the damage was done. As a team with Ashwin, the spin twins promptly destroyed Australia's top seven hitters, leaving them reeling at 67/7 before being all out for just 91 runs. Ravindra Jadeja then took 2/34 in the second innings.

First Test: India vs. Australia: Ravichandran Ashwin Takes away Mickey From Supporter Who Called Him "Anna Bhaiya" | View Viral Tweet

After India defeated Australia in the opening Test at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, India's all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin made fun of a supporter who nicknamed him "Anna Bhaiya."

India defeated Australia by an inning and 132 runs in the opening test of the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India bowled out Australia for 91 in their second innings after Ashwin's devastating 12-over performance, which saw him take 5 wickets for 37 runs.

In fifty or so balls, Ashwin, who bowled his overs from the North End of the field, sent the Australians reeling to their lowest-ever total in India. Australia's previous low score was 93, which they received in 2004.

Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted a message on Twitter after the game that read:

India defeats Australia by an inning and 132 runs to take a 1-0 series lead in the Border Gavaskar Trophy game.

India defeated Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the first Test, which was played in Nagpur on Saturday, to take a 1-0 series lead.

When India batted in their second innings soon before tea, they dismissed Australia for 91 runs in 32.3 overs thanks to off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (5/37) who also returned with a five-wicket haul. Australia lost a significant first-inning lead of 223 points. After 93 in Mumbai, this was Australia's second-lowest total against India (2004).

Ashwin blasted through the top order of Australia with a probing length delivery, reaching his 31st fifty in just his 10th over, before Ravindra Jadeja (2/34) Mohammed Shami (2/13) and Axar Patel (1/6) finished the job.

Earlier, in a fun 52-run ninth wicket partnership with Shami, who was at his aggressive best in his 37 off 47 balls, Axar Patel scored a career-high 84 (174 balls; 10x4s, 16). (2x4s, 3x6s).

India was bowled out for 400 at midday on a turning Jamtha pitch in response to Australia's 177.

Axar Patel, a left-handed batsman who was 52 at the start of play, appeared composed and in control to provide India a strong batting depth at position nine.

Todd Murphy, a rookie off-spinner for Australia, was the attack's top performer and came back with outstanding stats of 47-12-124-7.

Short rankings: Australia First and second innings both ended with 91 runs being run out in 32.3 overs (Ravichandran Ashwin 5/37).

Todd Murphy rewrites history by becoming the youngest Australian to collect a 5-wicket haul on test debut, winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

On Day 2 of the first Test match between India and Australia in Nagpur on Friday, February 10, off-spinner Todd Murphy wrote history.

The cricketer, who is 22 years old, made history by taking a five-wicket haul in his Test debut. In his first Test, Murphy completed a five-wicket haul with players like Scott Boland, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Nathan Lyon.

The off-spinner furthered a rare accomplishment by becoming the 35th Australian to capture a five-wicket haul in his first Test outing. The second day of the Nagpur Test was dominated by Australia's Murphy, who was making his Test debut with Suryakumar Yadav and Kona Srikar Bharat of India.

Murphy, who split India's opening partnership of 76 runs at the end of Day 1's play, shook the home team's middle order on Day 2. Murphy took up the wickets of nightwatchman Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Kona Srikar Bharat after dismissing KL Rahul to get his first Test wicket.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, reached his eighth Test century despite the other end's falling wickets. Before being dismissed for 120 by Pat Cummins, Rohit helped India reach 229/6. The hosts' all-rounders from India, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, held down the fort with their fifty-sixes, finishing the day without any further defeats. Suryakumar Yadav establishes a new record on his Test debut and becomes the first Indian to do so.

Suryakumar Yadav was included in Team India's playing XI for the opening Test match against Australia on Thursday, February 9, ending his long wait to play Test cricket. During the England tour in 2021, the right-handed batsman received his initial call to the Test team. Later that year, during the home series against New Zealand, he was called up to the Test squad.

In 2022, Suryakumar stayed away from the Test team. In the current season, he participated in two Ranji Trophy games and actively sought a recall. Sarfaraz Khan lost out to Suryakumar for a spot in the Test lineup. The minute Ravi Shastri gave the seasoned batter his first Test cap, he set a singular record.

The first Indian player to play in all forms after turning 30 is Suryakumar. Suryakumar, who will represent Mumbai Indians in the 2020 IPL, nearly made the T20I team for the Australia tour but was not chosen. In March 2021, he received his first call-up and made his international debut against England. In July 2021, he played against Sri Lanka in his first ODI.After the SL tour, he was accepted into the Test team, but his debut was delayed.

At 30 years and 6 months old, he made his T20I debut. On the day of his ODI debut, he had three years, ten months, and four days left to live. At the age of 32 years, 4 months, and 26 days, he played his first Test.

Shubman Gill lost out to Suryakumar for a spot in the starting XI. KL Rahul has the advantage over Gill since he is the vice-captain, hence he kept his spot. The team's management made the decision to bench an effective Gill and give Suryakumar his debut.

R Ashwin breaks Anil Kumble's remarkable record in the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test between India and Australia.

In the first Test match against Australia, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made history by taking his 450th wicket, the second-fastest bowler in the world, in just 89 games. The Sri Lankan superstar Muttiah Muralidaran holds the record for accomplishing the feat the quickest, doing so in in 80 games.

When he removed Australian wicket-keeper batter Alex Carey, 36-year-old Ashwin reached a significant milestone. With this victory, Ashwin overtook renowned leg-spinner Anil Kumble as the second-highest wicket-taker in Indian cricket history.

In the first inning of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia, Ashwin excelled, taking three wickets for 42 runs. Just below Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who has 460 wickets in 115 appearances, he presently holds ninth place on the list of Test cricket wicket-takers. Ashwin, who has 452 wickets in 89 games, is only eight wickets behind.

Speaking of the game, Australia had a strong start in the early session before being dismissed for 177. The visitors were down to 174-8 during the tea break, but things rapidly turned around in the afternoon. Unfortunately, following the interval, they lost the final two wickets quickly.

The left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Marnus Labuschagne (49) and Steve Smith (37), who had appeared at ease in the morning session. With five wickets, Jadeja has led the Indian bowling assault while Ashwin has contributed with three. Additionally productive, Siraj and Shami have each taken one wicket.

Shubman Gill scores his first century in a Twenty20 match against New Zealand, breaking THIS Virat Kohli record.

Shubman Gill scores his first century in a Twenty20 match against New Zealand, breaking THIS Virat Kohli record.

Shubman Gill of India achieved new heights on Wednesday, February 1, when he finally cracked the T20I code against New Zealand in the third and final T20I at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. India was very dissatisfied with the Lucknow pitch, but the calm Ahmedabad surface more than made up for it. Hardik Pandya decided to bat after India won the toss. Ishan Kishan kept having a terrible series, but Gill was fielding every ball middlingly on the other end. Though he took his time, it was not long before he began to gather the boundaries in sixes and fours.

While wickets were falling at the other end, Gill's strokeplay remained amazing. He scored his maiden T20I tonne by finishing the 20 overs with 126 off 63 balls, which contained 12 fours and 7 sixes, respectively. The event was unintentionally distinguished by the appearance of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who was at the venue to congratulate the India U19 Women Cricketers on their recent T20 World Cup victory.

The most significant record that Gill broke was Virat Kohli's mark for the greatest individual score for India in the format. When Kohli scored 122 not out against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022, he broke the international tonnes drought. With 126 unbeaten, Gill currently holds the record for the highest T20I score by an Indian. Others include Suryakumar Yadav (117 against. England in 2022) and Rohit Sharma (118 vs. SL in 2017).Gill currently has hundreds in each of the game's three versions. Only five Indians have done so before him. Others include Kohli, Rohit, KL Rahul, and Suresh Raina.

Against New Zealand, the 23-year-old hitter has scored the most runs in ODIs (208) and T20Is (123*).
In 20 overs, India had scored 234 for 4. With New Zealand needing to score 66 runs in just 12.1 overs to win the match, Hardik took 4 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Shivam Mavi each claimed 2 wickets. The largest margin of victory in a T20I between two Full Member sides was achieved by India as they defeated NZ by 168 runs. NZ's 66 is also their third-lowest T20I total and their lowest score against India.

Marnus Labuaschagne and Steve Smith arrive in Bengaluru ahead of the Test series during Australia's tour of India.

The first group of Australian players to arrive in India included Alex Carey, Marnus Labuschagne, and star hitters Steve Smith and Marnus. Prior to the Border Gavaskar Trophy four-test series, which begins on February 9, the top-ranked hitters and the wicketkeeper-batter Carey arrived in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

In preparation for the much anticipated four-test series, Australia players left Sydney in two groups on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will be the No. 1 side's first trip to India for Test matches since the suspenseful 2017 series.

Before leaving for Nagpur for the first Test of the series, Australia's players will attend a 4-day training camp in Bengaluru.

Steve Smith posted a video of himself, Carey, and Labuschagne during their flight to Bengaluru on social media. Prior to arriving in the South Indian city on Wednesday, the first group of Australian cricketers had a layover in Singapore.

Notably, on Monday night before leaving for India in two groups, the Australian stars attended the Cricket Australia Awards. At the Cricket Australia awards, Smith won the Alan Border medal, making history as the third cricketer (after Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke) to receive it four times.

As anticipated, Marnus Labuschagne posted a picture of his morning coffee from Bengaluru on social media. Notably, before travelling to India, Labuschagne packed a bag full of coffee from his own brand, which caused his colleague David Warner and India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik to react in an amusing way.

For the four-test series, which will serve as both India and Australia's final test match in the World Test Championship final, Australia picked an 18-member squad, lead by Pat Cummins. Both teams have a chance to advance to the WTC 2021–23 championship game, and the visitors must win at least one game to guarantee their spot.

Australia suffered a setback on Wednesday when Usman Khawaja, their star opener, missed the flight to India owing to a visa delay. The left-handed opener and a few members of the support staff are anticipated to depart for India on Thursday, and Cricket Australia is confident that the visa situation will be resolved on Wednesday.
