India has risen to the top of the ICC rankings as the best team across all game formats.

The first Test of the four-match series between Team India and Australia at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur ended in a 132-run victory for Team India. Rohit Sharma's team is now the top-ranked team across all three game forms as a consequence of their victory.

India has surpassed Pat Cummins' Australia in Test cricket as well, moving up to position 115 from the Australians' 111. England is in third place with 106 ranking points in the most recent rating, which was made public on Wednesday (February 15).

The Indian cricket fans were not in for any happy news. The Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, has moved up to second place in the bowlers' rankings thanks to his outstanding performance with the ball. Compared to Australian captain Cummins, who has 867 rating points, Ashwin has 846 rating points. Jasprit Bumrah, who will not play in the four-match Test series, is currently ranked fifth among bowlers with 803 points.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the second Test between India and Australia will start on Friday (February 17). To secure a spot in the ICC World Test Championships championship game later this year, Rohit Sharma's team must win the Test series by a margin of two games.

The 36-year-old is now ranked No. 2 among Test bowlers, 21 rating points behind Australia's Pat Cummins, and India is back at the top of the rankings for the first time since 2017.

While Jadeja caused havoc on the first day with 5/47, including the valuable wickets of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne, while Ashwin stepped up in what ended up being the final session of the Test, the damage was done. As a team with Ashwin, the spin twins promptly destroyed Australia's top seven hitters, leaving them reeling at 67/7 before being all out for just 91 runs. Ravindra Jadeja then took 2/34 in the second innings.
