 Women's Premier League to give a tough time to IPL: Close bid of Rs 5,000 crore


The rights of 5 teams for the women's IPL have been auctioned for Rs 4669.99 crore.

Women's IPL Francis Pitts Updates: The women's IPL cricket T20 tournament, which will feature five teams, is scheduled to be held in March this year. In this case, the auction to take over the ownership of these five teams was held today. Bcci secretary Jay Shah said the total amount of the auction surpassed the bid amount of the men's IPL franchises, which was launched in 2008.

The BCCI has also confirmed the names of the five teams that have successfully bought the rights to the 2023 Women's IPL and have named the league as the Women's Premier League.

Ahmedabad – Adani 1289 crore.
Mumbai Indians – Mumbai Indians 912 crore.
Bengaluru – RCB 901 crore.
Lucknow – Capri Global 757 crore.
Delhi – JSW 810 crore.
It is to be noted that Chennai Super Kings have not submitted the bid for the women's team rights.
