Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former captain of India, is renowned for his composure on the field and his candor off it. Dhoni, one of the finest captains in the world and a former international cricketer, will next be seen in the IPL in 2023, which begins on March 31.
Dhoni has won the IPL championship four times with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which is the second-most wins (behind Rohit Sharma's five for the Mumbai Indians). But Dhoni is very clear-headed about what he desires, and his former CSK teammate Robin Uthappa concurs with him.
Uthappa described an instance involving Dhoni's rational thought process while speaking on JioCinema, the IPL 2023's official digital broadcaster.
MS is a very affable individual. Even if it hurts you, he will tell the truth without holding back. He called me after I was selected by CSK in the auction and told me he wasn't sure if I'd give you an opportunity to play because the season is still in the future and I hadn't given it much thought. I'll let you know if I do decide to let you participate. I had already spent 13 productive years in the IPL by this point. But he still came right out and told me what he had to do. I still think highly of that, Uthappa said.
Notably, Dhoni is one of the best captains in IPL history, having led his team to victories in 123 of the 210 games he has commanded, defeats in 86 of those games, and a draw in one.
Dhoni, who is now 41 years old, relinquished control of CSK midway through the previous season after a run of defeats in favor of Ravindra Jadeja. At the end of the 14-game season, CSK had only managed four victories and ten defeats.
On March 31, the upcoming season of the premier league gets underway, and Dhoni is anticipated to captain the team.
